Improve the workflow.
Build what it needs.
I use AI as a development partner for focused software and scripts that support design production. The starting point is a recurring task, not a tool for its own sake.
Make the whole
motion loop visible.
9J Animation brings rigging, keyframes, curves and preview into a focused workspace. The Nandu project below is a real character rig with five animation clips.
Start from a real task
Mark joints on the artwork to create a starting bone chain, mesh and weights, then review the result.
Connect the steps
Group tracks, adjust timing and inspect curves instead of repeating edits on individual keys.
Check the output
Export frames and metadata from the same editable project, then inspect them before the next production step.
9J Animation is my adapted production tool built on the open-source Rigby2D foundation. AI assists the development; I define the workflow and review the result.
Give the tool
the right context.
The 9J Studio preparation flow maps a character’s bones to body and face capture roles. Explicit mapping makes the connection between a source signal and the rig inspectable.
Automate preparation.
Keep visual judgment.
For an icon family, I built a script that processes 20 sources into transparent 86 × 86 assets and produces five comparison sheets. Consistent preparation makes differences easier to review.
20 source images
Five actions, four variants each.
One export recipe
Optical scale, transparency and delivery size.
Assets + comparison sheets
Check the family and each icon at native size.

86 × 86 pixels.
The actual export size, with transparency. Readability is reviewed where the asset will be used.
